About Me

My name is Julie Rhea and I've been an educator since 2001.  I am certified to teach Science (4th - 8th), Elementary (self-contained), ESL,  as well as High School English Language Arts and Reading, and Psychology.  I've taught in Dallas ISD, and Quinlan ISD before coming to Bland.  I've also presented classes specifically for Science teachers at the Conference for the Advancement of Science Teaching.  I'm a member of the Texas Regional Science Collaborative at the University of North Texas under Dr. James Roberts and Dr. Betty Crocker.  I'm currently teaching 7th and 8th grade Science, and I am thrilled to be part of the Bland ISD Community.

I have been married for 30 years to a wonderful man and we have three handsome sons who all support my work in the classroom.  I love to cook, read, crochet, knit, and am a bit of a science fiction nerd.

I look forward to working with your children this year to bring them a greater understanding of the world we live in and, hopefully, a love of learning and discovering how things work.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions, or join your child's Google class to see the assignments made this year.  I will be posting that information on our class page in the coming weeks.  Until then, “Think like a PROTON - Always POSITIVE!"
